Volleyball endures latest wins and defeats

Thursday, September 28 had the Cashmere volleyball team up at Chelan to go up against the Goats, who they ultimately lost to.
"We started with a great level of intensity but we struggled to maintain it throughout the match," Coach Juan Sanchez said. "Mental mistakes and miscommunication allowed Chelan to come back and take game one. We dug ourselves a hole that we couldn't climb back up in the next two sets."

The girls lost 25-20 in their first match, 25-13 in their second and 25-17 in their third, and final, set.
The girls traveled to Sunnyside on Saturday, September 30 to play against the Grizzlies.
The team won their match against Sunnyside as they won their first set 25-14, 25-23 in their second match and then lost 25-20 in their third match. But, in their final set, the girls turned it around and won 25-15.
"The girls played really hard the entire match," Coach Sanchez said. "I give a lot of credit to our outside hitters, Aleah Kert and Summer Schoening. They played by far their best match of the season. Our passing and setting was outstanding."

The Cashmere girls took to Okanogan Thursday, October 5 where they beat their Bulldogs team 3-2.
"It was a hard fought match," Coach Sanchez said. "Okanogan did a very good job finding the deep corners and tipping over the block."
The girls had a hard time adjusting at first.
"We made some line up changes and that really helped us get back in the match," Coach Sanchez said. "I give a lot of credit to Summer Schoening and Grace Croci. They worked hard to keep us in the match in the third and fourth sets. They got some awesome hits that helped us get the momentum back."

Saturday, October 7 saw the Cashmere girls taking on the Wapato Wolves at a home game, where they won 3-1.
During the latest home game, the girls wore pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The lady 'dogs even took turns sharing the names of people they knew who were breast cancer survivors and dedicated their game that day to those people.
