Newspaper owner named Leavenworth's Royal Lady

The Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival Association is proud to announce that Carol Forhan has been selected as the fifty second Royal Lady for 2016-2017.

Forhan, with her husband Bill, is owner of NCW Media Inc., which owns the Cashmere Valley Record, The Leavenworth Echo, Lake Chelan Mirror, Quad City Herald and the Wenatchee Business Journal.

They purchased the Echo and Record in 2000.

Since then, Forhan has been active in the Leavenworth Community serving on the Mountain Meadows Assisted Living Board, the Upper Valley Museum Board as well as a member of the Leavenworth Women's Club.

She is also an ordained deacon at St. James Episcopal Church in Cashmere and sits on the Commission on Ministry board for the Diocese of Spokane.

As the Royal Lady Forhan will represent the City of Leavenworth and the Autumn Leaf Festival Association at the Daffodil Festival in Tacoma/Puyallup/Sumner, the Apple Blossom Festival in Wenatchee, Lilac Festival in Spokane, New Westminster Parade in Hyack, BC, Rose Festival in Portland, Strawberry Festival in Marysville, Capital Lakefair in Olympia, Seafair in Seattle and the Peach Festival in Penticton, BC.

The Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival is the oldest Festival in Leavenworth and will be celebrating 53 years this year. Autumn Leaf Festival is always the last weekend of September. This year's celebration will be Sept. 23, 24 and 25 in Leavenworth.
