Cashmere Bulldogs Sports Roundup

CASHMERE - The Cashmere Bulldogs participated in various sports events this past week, experiencing both successes and setbacks. The track and field teams competed at the Cockrum Relays, with several athletes securing top positions. The tennis teams continued their season, with the girls maintaining their undefeated record and the boys improving theirs. The softball team encountered their first losses of the season but showed determination and individual accomplishments. The baseball team split a doubleheader, emphasizing the effectiveness of their pitching and offense. In a tense soccer match, the Bulldogs achieved a crucial league win against Chelan, reinforcing their standing in the Caribou Trail League. 

Track and Field:

The Cashmere Bulldogs track and field teams competed at the Cockrum Relays at Wenatchee High School on Saturday, March 24th. The girls team placed third overall, with Brianna Talley winning the triple jump and Raquel Pedraza placing 2nd in the shot put. The boys team placed 5th overall, with Kaden Miller and Colby Diaz placing 2nd in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.

Tennis:

On Tuesday, March 26th, the Cashmere Bulldogs hosted Okanogan in tennis, with both the boys and girls teams winning 4-1. The girls remain undefeated at 5-0, while the boys improved to 4-1 on the season. Layne Varrelman, Hazel Schade, Reed Lewis, and Albin Eskew led the way with singles victories, while the doubles teams also dominated their matches.

Softball:

The Cashmere Bulldogs softball team suffered their first two losses of the season in a non-league double header against Kiona-Benton on Tuesday, March 26th. Ki-Be won the first game 10-0 and the second game 5-3. Tryniti Collum led the Bulldog offense, going 2-for-2 in the opener and 1-for-2 with a run scored in the second game.

Baseball:

The Cashmere Bulldogs baseball team split a non-league doubleheader against Kiona-Benton on Tuesday, March 26th. The Bulldogs won the opener 4-1, with Jack Niederstadt striking out 13 batters in five innings. Game two ended in a 3-3 tie after 8 innings due to darkness. Korey Knoll led the offense, going 3-for-4 in the opener and 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles in the second game.

Soccer:

On Thursday, March 29th, the Cashmere Bulldogs soccer team defeated the Chelan Goats 2-1 in a crucial league match. Alejandro Rojas tied the score in the 48th minute, and Juan Cacho scored the game-winner during stoppage time. The Bulldogs improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the Caribou Trail League, currently tied for 2nd place.
