Track & Field: Bulldogs dominate home meet and compete in Yakima

The Cashmere Bulldogs track and field teams had an impressive showing last week. They dominated their home meet on Friday, March 29, and competed against larger schools at the Don Holder Relays in Yakima on Saturday, March 30.

In Friday's 5-school meet, the Bulldogs came out on top, with the boys totaling 146 points and the girls earning 127 points. Senior Kaden Miller set a personal record in the 110 Hurdles (14.77) and also won the 300 Hurdles (41.61). Isaac Zavala (high jump) and Maddeck Strong (3200M) also won individual events, while the boys claimed first place in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. On the girls' side, Brynn Patrick (100M), Raquel Pedraza (Discus), and Quinn Pace (Pole Vault) won individual events, and senior Molly Smith was part of three winning relay teams (4×100, 4×200, and 4×400).

At the Don Holder Relays in Yakima, the Bulldogs faced tough competition from larger schools. The girls team placed 11th out of 23 scoring teams, while the boys placed 6th out of 25. Kaden Miller continued his winning streak, placing first in the 400M Hurdles (56.78) and long jump (20-11.75'). Colby Diaz placed 2nd in the triple jump (41-07'), and the boys 4×400 relay team recorded the 2nd fastest time in the state this season. The girl's 4×100 relay team ran the 6th fastest time in the state.

Baseball: Bulldogs split with Goats

The Cashmere Bulldogs baseball team hosted the Chelan Goats in a Caribou Trail League doubleheader on Saturday, March 30, splitting the series. Chelan took game one 5-2 in extra innings, while Cashmere bounced back to win game two 9-1.

In the opener, pitchers Jack Niederstadt (Cashmere) and Christian Cruz (Chelan) both delivered strong performances. The game was tied 2-2 after 7 innings, but Chelan's offense came alive in the top of the 8th to secure the victory. In game two, senior Caed Wilkinson pitched an outstanding game for the Bulldogs, striking out 9 and allowing only one unearned run. He also went 2-for-4 with two RBI at the plate.



Softball: Bulldogs sweep Goats

The Cashmere Bulldogs softball team opened Caribou Trail League play with a doubleheader sweep over the visiting Chelan Goats on Saturday, March 30, winning 11-3 and 11-4.

Sophomore Macie Zimmerman was dominant in the circle, striking out 11 batters in game one and 8 in game two, while also tossing complete games in both contests. Tryniti Collum and Kate Jacobson provided offensive support, with Collum going 3-for-6 with a triple and 7 RBI over the two games, and Jacobson going 4-for-4 with 4 RBI and two runs scored.
