Cashmere election results show likely winners, many races unopposed

As of the latest tabulation on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 9, Chelan County election results show a 40.98% voter turnout for the Nov. 7, 2023, general election. 

Several races appear to be decided in the City of Cashmere but will not be officially determined until all ballots have been counted.

For Cashmere School District No. 22 School Board Director District #1, Aaron D. Bessonette is running unopposed and has received 1,153 votes, giving him 99.05% of ballots cast.

In the race for Cashmere School Board Director District #2, Sara Pipkin is the likely winner with her solid lead of 996 votes, giving her 65.44% of votes. Her opponent, Ted Russell Snodgrass received 522 votes which gave him 34.36% of votes. Snodgrass did gain two percentage points since the first tubulation but still lags behind Pipkin’s lead.

Nick Wood is running unopposed for Cashmere School Board Director District #3. He received 1,075 votes giving him 97.2% of the votes. There were 31 write-in votes.

In his uncontested race incumbent Cashmere Mayor, Jim Fletcher received 441 votes giving him 93.04% of votes. There were 24 write-in ballots cast. 

City of Cashmere Council Member #4 Jayne Stephenson holds 97.26% of votes with 426 ballots cast in her favor. 

City of Cashmere Council Member #5 Jeff Johnson is the likely winner with his lead of 339 votes for 59.09% of votes cast. His opponent Derrick Pratt received 230 votes for 40.21% of votes.

The next ballot count will be released on Monday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. There are an estimated 1,100 ballots left to count in Chelan County.
