The Cashmere High School cross country team raced at Walla Walla Point on Tuesday, Oct. 24, to determine which runners would advance to state. It was a breezy, cool afternoon but the kids ran hard. The race course is 5 km in length and makes two loops between the Coyote and Salmon statue and the boathouse. The five Caribou Trail League schools competed.
GIRLS
The girls were competing to be one of the top seven individuals in the race or be on the champion team to get a chance to compete at the state championship meet, which will be held in Pasco on Saturday, Nov. 4. The girls ran hard but were not able to qualify to participate in the state championships.

BOYS
The boys were competing to be in the top 14 individually or on the two fastest teams in order to qualify for the state championships. The boys competed well and were able to qualify as a team. The State Championship meet will be at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco on Saturday 11/4. The boys will race at noon.

JUNIOR VARSITY
This was the last race of the season for these runners. Most of the runners were at their season best times even though the conditions were cold and breezy. The runners showed a lot of determination and had very good performances.
