CHS finished the regular season strong in Girls' Varsity Swimming

MOSES LAKE - The Cashmere Bulldogs' girls varsity swim team closed their regular season on a high note in Moses Lake, gearing up for the upcoming District Swim Meet at Washington State University.

Kate Jacobson delivered an outstanding performance, claiming 2nd place in the 100 free event, competing against formidable 4A teams. Jacobson showcased her prowess by setting a personal record (PR) of 58.98, slashing 1.54 seconds off her previous best. In the 200 IM, she clinched a respectable third place, also setting a PR of 2:33.14, an impressive 1.84-second improvement from her seed time. Jacobson's tenacity was rewarded with a Tough Girl t-shirt from the Eastmont swim program for participating in every race this season. Not stopping there, she solidified her place in the upcoming district competition in every event.

Kylie Wheatley displayed her mettle in the 100 fly, capturing 3rd place with a remarkable time of 1:13.93, a PR, and an incredible improvement of 10.67 seconds. Wheatley's standout performance secured her a spot in the district competition in this event.

Mollie Mott added to the team's success, claiming 7th place in the 100 back with a time of 1:13.44, shaving an impressive 4.21 seconds from her previous mark, making her a strong contender in the district meet in this event.

The quartet of Mollie Mott, Sophee Mott, Alia Kovacevich, and Kate Jacobson put on another competitive display in the 200 free relay, earning a well-deserved 3rd place. Their split times were as follows:

- M. Mott: 28.07

- S. Mott: 27.82

- Kovacevich: 28.27

- Jacobson: 26.05

The spirit of competition continued with Jacobson, Wheatley, and the Mott sisters joining forces for the 400 free relay, where they secured a 3rd place finish. Their split times for this event were:

- Jacobson: 1:00.15

- Wheatley: 1:02.27

- M. Mott: 1:05.50

- S. Mott: 1:04.87

The Cashmere Bulldogs are now primed for the District Swim Meet, and the strong performances from Kate Jacobson, Kylie Wheatley, and the Mott sisters bode well for their prospects in the upcoming competition.
