Cashmere Bulldogs secure CTL title with a 4-0 victory over Omak

OMAK - In a thrilling Caribou Trail League matchup, the Cashmere Bulldogs traveled to Omak to face off against the Pioneers, and they emerged victorious with a resounding 4-0 win. This victory solidified their dominance in the CTL and guaranteed their place in the District VI Championship Match on Oct. 28 at the Apple Bowl.

The Bulldogs wasted no time asserting their authority, as senior midfielder Yaselyn Mejia struck the back of the net in the 25th minute, giving Cashmere an early 1-0 advantage. They maintained their lead, heading into halftime with a 1-0 scoreline.

The second half saw the Bulldogs adapt to the defensive strategy of the Pioneers, with sophomore Aven Davis capitalizing on a Gwen Ledesma pass in the 56th minute to double their lead to 2-0. Davis continued to shine, netting a brace in the 65th minute off a pass from freshman Addison Talley, extending the lead to 3-0. The match's final goal was contributed by junior forward Savannah Tomlinson in the 70th minute, with an assist from Alyssa Soria.

The Bulldog's midfielders, Kora Traynor and Alyssa Soria, were instrumental in controlling the Pioneer's attacks and setting up Cashmere's offense throughout the game. Cashmere dominated in shots, outshooting the Pioneers 25 to 3.

Notably, Kamryn Tomlinson achieved her 5th consecutive shutout, marking her 9th shutout of the season. With this victory, the Bulldogs improved to a flawless 7-0 record in CTL play and an impressive 11-0-2 for the season. They also secured the CTL regular season title, making their championship ambitions even more compelling.

Wenatchee Panthers Defeat Cashmere Bulldogs 4-0 in Non-League Match

CASHMERE  - The Cashmere Bulldog girls' soccer team faced a formidable challenge as they hosted the 4A Wenatchee Panthers in a non-league soccer match at the Vale Soccer Field. With an impressive 11-1-2 record going into the game, the Bulldogs were eager to maintain their unbeaten streak. However, the Panthers had other plans, emerging victorious with a convincing 4-0 win.

Despite creating several early opportunities, the Bulldogs found themselves trailing 2-0 at halftime. In the second half, they were compelled to push their offensive efforts, which allowed the Panthers to capitalize on counterattacks and secure a couple of breakaway goals. This defeat marked the first loss of the season for the Bulldogs, who have otherwise had a stellar campaign.

It was a physical and well-contested match by both teams, demonstrating the level of competition and skill on display. The Bulldogs will look to regroup and bounce back from this setback as they continue their impressive season.
