Ellie Bessonette named WIAA Athlete of Week

CASHMERE – Ellie Bessonette, a junior on the Cashmere High School girls’ varsity basketball team, has been named WIAA Athlete of the Week for 2024 Week 6 for her performance in the Feb. 1 District 6 1A title-winning game against Chelan. Bessonette scored 30 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, made six steals, and three assists in the 64-24 win over the Goats for the Caribou Trail League trophy. The junior playmaker averaged nearly 15 points and eight rebounds per game, together with three steals and three assists for the season.
