Cashmere Food Bank offers training for community volunteers at upcoming event

Posted

CASHMERE — The Cashmere Food Bank is dedicated to eliminating hunger in the community by providing free, nutritious food to all who need assistance. This vital community effort serves your neighbors with dignity, respect, and compassion. The food bank in any town is an essential service, and Cashmere’s quick, efficient drive-through service is one of the best examples in the region.

Their mission is sustained by the incredible generosity and community spirit of local individuals, organizations, churches, and businesses. While they do rely on one paid employee, their operations — from distribution to administrative and planning functions—are primarily driven by invaluable volunteers.

Any time you see the word “volunteer,” it means you have an opportunity to be part of something. And on August 7, you have the chance to get some training from the people who run the Cashmere Food Bank on being a volunteer involved in the organization.

Throughout the years, although their location and schedule have changed, their core commitment remains the same. The food bank also connects people in need to broader community resources, fostering partnerships with volunteers and community leaders across business, faith, and education.

Join the staff of the Cashmere Food Bank on August 7 at 4 p.m. for volunteer training. The food bank is located at 316 River Street, near the Riverstreet Laundromat. If you have questions, you can call (509) 245-6464 or email food bank director Pam at cashmerefoodbank@gmail.com.
