Cashmere High School choir program launches 'Cashmere Idol' talent competition

CASHMERE- Following up the annual Cashmere High School holiday concert is the very first Cashmere Idol event, hosted by the CHS choir program. Taking place the Wednesday before students are released for Christmas break, 9th-12th grade students are given the opportunity to sing a song of their choice at a public performance on Dec. 18. The event is a chance to improve musical talent and stage presence, as well as provide entertainment for the community.

A panel of three judges will be present at the event to encourage the singers and give feedback. After auditioning earlier this month, each student will perform a solo song, with brief acts in between. Choir director Cathy Bronson will be present to oversee the performances and manage the event.

Tickets will be available to everyone for $5 and bought at the door. All of the proceeds will go back to the CHS choir in order to support the program. The choir department encourages the community to visit Cashmere Middle School on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. to support the student singers.
