Cashmere man arrested after vehicles damaged on Riverside Drive

Posted

CASHMERE — A 19-year-old Cashmere man was arrested late Wednesday, February 18, after deputies say he used a rock to damage multiple vehicles in a residential stretch of Riverside Drive.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at about 10:20 p.m. to the 200 block of Riverside Drive after receiving a report of a suspect damaging vehicles. The call came late in the evening, a time when most vehicles in the neighborhood would have been parked for the night.

Deputies contacted Chandler Clark, 19, of Cashmere at the scene. An investigation determined several vehicles had been damaged, and Clark was arrested and booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on two counts of third-degree malicious mischief.

Third-degree malicious mischief in Washington generally involves property damage valued at less than $750.

The incident occurred in a neighborhood area, and deputies said additional damaged vehicles may not yet have been reported. Residents in the area may not notice the damage until vehicles are driven or moved.

The sheriff’s office is asking residents in the area to check their vehicles and report any damage believed to have been caused in the incident. Anyone who discovers damage is asked to call RiverCom at 509-663-9911 to file a report so it can be included in the investigation.

Clark is no longer listed on the jail roster, indicating that he has been released as he awaits a court date on the charges.
