Cashmere school board tours classrooms, programs across district

Posted

CASHMERE — Members of the Cashmere School Board spent two days touring classrooms and programs across the district at the end of February, getting a closer look at how instruction, career training and student activities are unfolding at both the middle and high school levels.

The visits began Feb. 26 at Cashmere Middle School, where administrators highlighted collaborative teaching strategies, classroom frameworks such as claim-evidence-reasoning discussions and projects ranging from app design to engineering challenges.

The following day, Feb. 27, the group visited Cashmere High School, where administrators and students showcased a broad range of career and technical education programs, including leadership organizations, horticulture, business education, welding and health occupations training.

Board members Aaron Bessonette, Nick Wood, Sara Pipkin and Aaron Lowers, along with Superintendent Glenn Johnson, participated in the walkthroughs.

Together, the visits offered a snapshot of how students move through the district’s programs — from foundational classroom skills in the middle school to hands-on career pathways and leadership opportunities in high school.

The following stories on highlight key moments from each visit.
