Cashmere–Dryden Airport Day takes flight Sept. 6 with family-friendly fun

Posted

CASHMERE — The first weekend in September offers a chance to take off into the world of aviation at the Cashmere–Dryden Airport Day! The family event on September 6 starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. at the airport, located at 5500 Sullivan Street in Cashmere.

You can enjoy lots of vintage aircraft and automobile displays, military and first responder displays, radio control aircraft displays and demonstrations, helicopters and more, all at a small, accessible airport with plenty of parking.

It’s a free event for all ages, featuring games and a bouncy house where kids can play. There will be plenty of food and drinks available for purchase, with hot dogs, kettle corn, sno-cones and even a taco truck on hand.

It’s all about community — and flying — at Cashmere–Dryden Airport’s fourth annual Airport Day, which aims to foster community engagement and highlight the airport's vital role as a local resource.

Opened in 1950, the Cashmere-Dryden Airport (8S2) in Cashmere is publicly owned by Chelan County. It mainly accommodates small single-engine aircraft and helicopters.
