Chelan County Detective to lead scam awareness session at Cashmere Library

CASHMERE – Chelan County Sheriff's Detective Cy Bowthorpe will present about common scams on Tuesday, March 12 at 6-8 p.m. at the Cashmere Library.

"We feel privileged and lucky that Detective Bowthorpe was able to set time aside out of his busy schedule to come here on the evening of the twelfth of March at the Cashmere Library," Cashmere Branch Librarian Lisa Lawless said. 

"With all of the scams that plague everyone these days, we feel his presentation is very timely and needed," she said.

The presentation SCAMS and Scam Prevention with Detective Bowthorpe will cover common scams seen today.

Bowthorpe will discuss how to recognize and avoid common scams, including credit card scams.

He will also discuss what to do if you fall victim to a scam.

Detective Bowthorpe will be happy to answer any questions along the way and welcomes discussion, Lawless said. 

Light refreshments will be served at the event courtesy of the Cashmere Friends of the Library.
