CHELAN COUNTY – Incumbent Mike Steele, has taken a commanding lead in the race for the 12th District State Representative seat, securing 63.58% or 32,441 votes in Tuesday night's first round of the General Election.
In Chelan County, Steele got 71.41% of the votes, with 18,529 ballots cast in his favor. His opponent, Daniel Scott, Republican, got 28.59% of votes or 7,420 votes in Chelan County.
The District includes Chelan, Snohomish and King counties. Districtwide Scott received 17,711 votes or 34.71% of the vote.
Both candidates are members of the Republican party. Steele, the Deputy Minority Leader, was elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 2017.
The next ballot count will be released on Wednesday, November 6 at 5 p.m. Election results will be certified on Tuesday, November 26.
