WENATCHEE — Electric vehicle drivers and enthusiasts will gather at Pybus Public Market on Sunday, Oct. 5, as part of National Drive Electric Month, a nationwide celebration highlighting the benefits of electric transportation.
Plug-In North Central Washington (Plug-In NCW) and Wenatchee Cars and Coffee are co-hosting the third annual EV Lineup in the market’s west parking lot, 3 N. Worthen St., from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. The free community event will feature an informal showcase of electric cars, trucks, motorcycles and plug-in hybrids, along with opportunities to meet local EV owners and ask questions about making the switch to electric.
All EVs are welcome to participate, with introductions and lineup instructions beginning at 9:15 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., participants will attempt to break the current North Central Washington record of 28 electric vehicles in a single line.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy coffee or breakfast at Pybus Public Market while exploring the EVs on display. No RSVP is required, though organizers say it is appreciated.
National Drive Electric Month runs Sept. 12 through Oct. 12, with events scheduled across the country to raise awareness of electric vehicles’ environmental and economic benefits.
Since 2005, Plug-In NCW, a nonprofit subsidiary of the North Central Washington Economic Development District, has worked to expand the region’s energy security, strengthen the local economy and reduce emissions through electric vehicle adoption. The group supports education, outreach and infrastructure development across residential, commercial and agricultural sectors.
