Friends of the Cashmere Library hold annual Fall Book Sale Sept. 19–20

Posted

CASHMERE — Readers can stock up on affordable materials at the upcoming fall sales hosted by several of NCW Libraries’ “Friends of the Library” groups. These annual events are a fantastic way to support the invaluable work these groups do for regional libraries year-round.

Cashmere’s sale will be held Sept. 19–20 during normal business hours. For Friday, that means 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday it’s 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Used book sales are a beloved and enduring tradition for Friends of Library groups. They not only generate funds to support various library programs and activities but also offer low cost reading materials to the public and foster a love for reading.

For many Friends groups, book sales serve as their primary funding source. In fact, in addition to supporting them by patronizing the book sales, the Cashmere Friends group is always looking for volunteers. There's always work to be done, whether it's shelving books, tending to flower beds, or assisting with the summer reading program's craft activities for small children.

The Friends of the Cashmere Library offer a large selection of gently used books for sale. Hardbacks are priced at $1.00, and paperbacks at $0.50. All proceeds directly support the library. Donations of new and gently used books are welcome.

Part of the network of NCW Libraries, the Cashmere Public Library is located at 300 Woodring Street. Their phone number is 509-782-3314.
