NCW Libraries promotes Library Card Sign-Up Month With ‘One Card, Endless Possibilities’

WENATCHEE — NCW Libraries is encouraging residents across North Central Washington to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month in September with the theme “One Card, Endless Possibilities.”

With a library card, patrons can access more than books. NCW Libraries says its 30 branches across Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Okanogan and Ferry counties provide free programs, job resources, homework help, streaming media, cultural events and technology services.

The theme emphasizes that libraries are for everyone, regardless of age, background or goals. From exploring new hobbies and brushing up on technology skills to finding a great read or helping children succeed in school, the library card serves as the first step.

Each branch offers core resources including books, magazines, newspapers, public computers, printing and faxing services, free Wi-Fi, charging stations and restrooms. Locations also host programs tailored to community interests such as storytimes, book clubs, Lego challenges and craft afternoons.

NCW Libraries noted that signing up for a card is free and simple. For students, it can be a key to academic success. For adults, it provides a gateway to lifelong learning. For everyone, it is presented as a smart way to stay connected.

Special activities will be held throughout September to mark Library Card Sign-Up Month. More information is available at www.ncwlibraries.org or at local library branches.
