Nominations open for NCW Cancer Heroes Awards

Posted

WENATCHEE — Wellness Place is seeking nominations for its NCW Cancer Heroes event, an awards ceremony set to honor individuals who have made a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by cancer across North Central Washington.

The nomination deadline is Friday, Aug. 1. Community members are encouraged to nominate a cancer warrior, survivor, caregiver, medical provider, supporter, or even a local business or group who has offered inspiration or support during a cancer journey. Honorees may reside in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, or Okanogan counties, or have made a significant difference to someone in the region.

“We’ve already received some incredible stories,” said Marissa Collins, Executive Director of Wellness Place. “But we know there are more cancer heroes out there who deserve to be seen, celebrated, and honored — and we don’t want anyone to miss the chance to be part of this special night.”

The NCW Cancer Heroes event will take place Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Wenatchee Convention Center. The formal evening will feature a red-carpet welcome, dinner and drinks, a live awards ceremony, musical performances, and an after-party with dancing.

Each nomination includes a $120 fee, which covers public recognition, an award, and one complimentary ticket to the event. All nominees will be honored, either in person or in tribute.

Proceeds from the event will support Wellness Place’s free programs that provide critical resources and support to individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis. The nonprofit serves residents across North Central Washington, regardless of age or income.

The event is presented by Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, with additional sponsorship from Numerica Credit Union, Cascade Autocenter, Munchen Haus, Wheatland Bank, Arseneault Automation, Goodfellow Bros, Cascadian Plastic Surgery, Gann Construction, Kenady Real Estate Group, JBe Marketing, Feathers & Flowers, and JP Portrait Studio.
