Wenatchee Bighorns kick off training camp with 22 players vying for roster spots

WENATCHEE – The Wenatchee Bighorns are set to begin their training camp this week, with 22 players invited to compete for up to 12 spots on the team's roster. This marks the Bighorns' second season in The Basketball League and their first under head coach JP Davis. The camp is expected to be highly competitive.

During the TBL Combine and Draft in early February, the Bighorns chose seven players, five of whom will participate in the training camp. The team's draft selections include Lamar Wood and Terrell Jennings as first-round picks and Justin Omaga, Isaiah Darret, Jaron Glenn, Jobreil Powell, and Eusef Herbert in the second round. However, Lamar Wood will not join the camp due to family obligations, and Eusef Herbert is sidelined with an ankle injury. Darnell Butler Jr, the 12th overall pick, will be attending.

The list of invitees includes players from various collegiate backgrounds, highlighting a mix of guards and forwards with diverse skills and experiences. Among them are Tremont Robinson White from East Carolina University, Darnell Butler from Southern Indiana University, and Brandon Porter from Eastern Oregon University. Local talents Gavin Long and Ar'Mond Davis from Wenatchee will also be in attendance, showcasing the Bighorns' commitment to regional talent.

This training camp is a critical phase for the Bighorns as they prepare for the upcoming TBL season, aiming to build a strong and competitive team under the new leadership of Coach Davis.
