CASHMERE– The North Central Washington Woodshop will host its latest “Date Night” woodworking workshop in the event series on Saturday, July 11, offering participants an introduction to woodworking skills in a supportive learning environment.
Located at the North Central Washington Woodshop in Cashmere, the 2.5 hour workshop begins at 4 p.m. and is designed to help couples in attendance collaborate on a functional project and leave with a custom cutting board
Instruction will cover a variety of woodworking tools, including joiners, planers, table saws, and routers. Organizers say participants will gain practical knowledge of sanding and finishing techniques. Attendees leave with a custom, self-designed and self-crafted cutting board.
The workshop costs $90 per couple, $60 for attendance and $30 for materials.
No woodworking experience is required, and instructors will guide participants through the crafting process. The North Central Washington Woodshop’s 1,800-square-foot workspace is intended to accommodate both beginners starting their first projects and more experienced participants looking to refine their skills.
While the July 7 session is intended as a couples date night, the woodshop offers many classes open to all members of the community and designed for all audiences.
